It takes approximately two and half hours from Tokyo station or Niigata station via Echigo-Yuzawa station to Matsuda station on Hokuhoku Line. Please take a public bus or taxi to Sansho House. (Please check timetable of the public bus as it is not frequent.)

From Nagoya (approx. 4 hours): Chuo-Jidoshado -> Nagano Jidoshado -> Joshinetsu Jidoshado -> Toyodaiyama IC -> Route 117

From Kanazawa (approx. 3 hours 30 min): Hokuoriku Jidoshado -> Joetsu IC -> Route 253

From Niigata (approx. 2 hours): Kanetsu Jidoshado -> Echigo-Kawaguchi IC -> Route 117

From Kansai: (approx. 6 hours from Osaka) Meishin Expressway -Hokuriku Expressway Joetsu Exit→Route 253
[Note] Visiting Sansho House by car in the snowy season (From December to around April)
The Echigo-Matsunoyama area where Sansho House is located is covered with thick snow in winter. When visiting Echigo-Tsumari by car, please be sure to equip yourself with snow tires or tire chains.
